Eat Bulaga resumes live broadcast: 5 exciting things about the noontime show's return

After 85 long days, Eat Bulaga resumed its live broadcast on Monday.

Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards, Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola were the Dabarkads taking up stage time at the APT Studios, while Vic Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Joey de Leon led the #TeamBahay  contingent, comprized of Ryan Agoncillo, Ryzza Mae, Baeby Baste, and Pia Guanio.

It was a super fun affair and of course we just had to take down notes!

1. People were so excited for Eat Bulaga's return, that 'Eat Bulaga' was trending on Twitter all through Monday. Talent manager Rams David posted a photo of the hosts' rehearsal on Instagram, which quickly found its way on Twitter where it was shared and reshared and and reshared some more!

2. Face masks, check. Social distancing, check. Disinfection, check! Perhaps aware of their roles in setting an example, the Dabarkads wore their face masks, even those at home. Joey de Leon was more than proud to showcase his Eat Bulaga face mask.

In the opening sequence, Jose was shown to be disinfecting the stage as they later on flashed the video of the team's deep cleaning the studio, in preparation for the live show.

Meanwhile, Paolo showed the crew backstage, wearing PPEs and face shields.

3. The dabarkads clearly missed each other... and the studio. Did you catch their greeting to each other? Each of them exuded the same warmth and excitement you get from seeing old friends!

Case in point: Maine couldn't help but remove her mask as she exclaimed, "Bossing! Bossing! Nakakamiss ang studio!"

"Hay nako!" Vic exclaims from his living room, "parang na-miss mo ang studio ah." Vic then asks for updates — whether it was really clean, if his designated chair was disinfected, to which Maine happily reported, yes, yes, and yes. Fun times.

4. They continue to be self-deprecating, and enjoys teasing each other.  When it was Pia Guanio's time, she gamely danced from her house, after which she said "duon pala ako magaling, half-body dancing!" After exclaiming how much she missed them, Pia shared how long it took her to learn: "One week ko yan pinag-aralan guys!"

5. They obviously still has it. Eat Bulaga has always prided itself for knowing exactly what's uso and what's trending and despite the lockdown — maybe because of it — they're still very much abreast, thank you very much.

Upon their return, the Dabarkads showed they're also heavy...TikTokers! The crew on stage happily performed one of them Tiktok dances to which Vic called them, "mga Toktokers."

Of course he and Pauleen did a TikTok dance craze, with Vic poking his brand of fun.

God, we missed this bunch! What a happy return! — LA, GMA News
