Kapuso stars talk about The Art of Humor on ‘How Do You Feel?: Usapang Artista’

In celebration of Pride Month this June, various actors who have portrayed LGBTQ characters on screen including My Husband's Lover star Tom Rodriguez, The Rich Man's Daughter lead actresses Glaiza de Castro and Rhian Ramos, comedian Divine Tetay, and esteemed director and Fuccbois star Ricky Davao gathered via GMA Artist Center’s online show How Do You Feel?: Usapang Artista.

Facilitated by Chynna Ortaleza, who also played a lesbian character in The Rich Man's Daughter, the latest episode of ‘How Do You Feel?: Usapang Artista’ was a colorful two-part discussion about the actors' process to open people’s eyes to the beauty of their preparation and experiences.

In the show, Tom revealed realizations he  gained from exploring and portraying perspectives different from his own. “Regardless of gender, you go through the exact spectrum of emotions,” said Tom.

Likewise, Glaiza and Rhian admitted that they had to study and go through various resources to gain a deeper understanding of their characters.

“Kapag lumabas ka dun sa isip mo, ang dami mo palang madi-discover. Ang dami palang mundo, ang dami palang klase ng pag-ibig, ang dami palang klase ng pagmamahal, ang dami palang klase ng relasyon,” shared Glaiza.

“Mas naging aware ako sa feminine and masculine energies, not the physicality, not the gender,” added Rhian.

Meanwhile, Tetay related that he is willing to take on roles that go beyond the stereotype and the mold. “I’m waiting na magkaroon ng a little more challenging than I usually do. I know I can do more when it comes to acting.”

Ricky, on the other hand, emphasized their capabilities as an actor. “Actors always share something personal, something private,” he said.

This Saturday (June 27), multi-talented comedian and content creator Michael V., Bubble Gang mainstays Paolo Contis and Chariz Solomon, and veteran actor and Pepito Manaloto star Ronnie Henares will dive deep into what makes an effective comedian, how to incorporate improvisation into a scene, where to turn for comic inspiration, how to get laughs through one’s character, and the current landscape of comedy here in the Philippines.

Mikoy Morales, who is also part of the award-winning gag show Bubble Gang, will facilitate the roundtable discussion.

Produced by acting coach Ana Feleo and Artist Center talents Chynna Ortaleza, Benjamin Alves, and Mikoy Morales, catch How Do You Feel?: Usapang Artista on GMA Artist Center’s YouTube channel and GMA Network’s Facebook page every Saturday night at 8PM.
