Sunshine Cruz calls out obscene online messages, supposedly from daughters’ schoolmates
Sunshine Cruz on Monday called out several social media users—supposedly her daughters' schoolmates—for posting lewd and disrespectful comments about her and her children in a Facebook group.
"Wala kaming sinasaktan at inaapakang tao. Hindi pagkain o bagay ang mga babae," Sunshine said in an Instagram post that showed her daughters Samantha, Chesca, and Angeline.
"Anong satisfaction ang nakukuha nyo sa pambabastos nyo sa amin? I may have done sexy movies in the past but it is never a valid reason to treat us this way. please check my IG stories for more info," she added.
On her Instagram Stories, Sunshine posted several screenshots of Facebook pages and groups that reposted their photos with sexualizing labels and comments.
One of the screenshots showed a photo of the four of them where a Facebook page with the name "Diary Ng Lalake" labelled each of them "Okay," "OK," "K," and "Okayed."
"If this is right I don't know what's wrong anymore," Sunshine wrote on her Instagram Story posts showing the screenshots.
In a separate post on Instagram Story, Sunshine shared another screenshot showing a lewd conversation about them between three users in a Facebook group.
"Schoolmates pa ito ng mga anak ko. Hope you will have to courage to say this right in front of our faces, hindi sa Facebook lang," Sunshine said.
On Twitter, Sunshine's daughter Sam posted the same screenshot saying that it was posted in a "dibs page" two years ago during her sister's prom.
"Just saw this now but this was posted in a dibs page 2 years ago for my sister’s prom. She let this pass BUT I WON'T," Sam wrote.
Sam said she was more alarmed after finding out she knew some of the people involved.
"This will never be okay. the fact that I KNOW some of these people is scary. To disrespect our mom? And my sister who was 12 AT THAT TIME. Wow," she said.
In another tweet, she encouraged those who are going through the same thing to "FIGHT and keep fighting don’t let anything like this pass. ITS NOT RIGHT, never will be."
"I’m sorry for anyone that had to go through something like this. if you need to talk, I’m always here," she added.
Sunshine's eldest daughter Angelina also tweeted about the matter.
"I’m so tired seeing people defending the people who sexualize my little sisters," Angelina wrote.
She also stressed the fact that her sisters are minors.
"Those defending these predators, do you expect us to swim in jeans? make it make sense. It’s not funny and it’s not amusing. It’s disgusting."
In another tweet, Angelina said people should stop victim-blaming.
"Don’t normalize putting the blame on what we wear, whether it’s too revealing or not decent for you. THIS is why rape culture exists. instead, educate yourselves," she wrote.
