Why Alessandra de Rossi speaks up on Twitter amid pandemic
Alessandra de Rossi has become a Twitter darling amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The actress has been active on social media the past few months, charming netizens with her quick wit and humor while never shying away from social issues.
In the latest episode of "Quarantined With Howie Severino," Alessandra explained why she has chosen to be outspoken amid the community quarantine.
"I think lahat tayo ay may boses dapat na puwedeng pakinggan, puwedeng hindi. Puwede mong basahin, sabihin, 'What the hell is she saying?' Then let it go," she said.
"Kaya ako nagiging vocal because I think lahat may point. I mean, hindi man tayo mag-meet sa gitna, walang masamang pakinggan mo 'yung opinyon ng isa," she added.
Asked whether she isn't feeling stressed while exchanging quips and barbs with netizens, Alessandra said her online activity is due to the lockdown situation.
Before the pandemic, the actress said she would quickly forget about online jabs because she has to focus on her work.
With the entertainment industry disrupted by the coronavirus, however, that is no longer the case.
"Magpapaka-honest na 'ko," she said. "Wala akong pakialam kahit kanino. It just so happened right now that I am stuck at home, at wala kang kausap so may time kang pumatol." —MGP, GMA News
