'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston reveals COVID-19 battle, donates plasma

"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston revealed that he contracted the coronavirus.

The actor, who played Walter White in the popular show, said that he only suffered from mild symptoms, including mild headache, tightness of chest, and the loss of his sense of taste and smell.

"I was pretty strict in adhering to the protocols and still... I contracted the virus. Yep. it sounds daunting now that over 150,000 Americans are dead because of it. I was one of the lucky ones. Mild symptoms," he said in an Instagram post.

In the video he shared, he documented how he donated plasma at the UCLA Blood & Plasma Center, saying he had COVID-19 "early on" and he was now recovered.

"Hopefully the plasma donation can help some other people," he said.

He also urged the public to keep wearing a face mask, and follow safety protocols.

"I count my blessings and urge you to keep wearing the damn mask, keep washing your hands, and stay socially distant. We can prevail - but ONLY if we follow the rules together. Be well - Stay well," he said.

Cranston is a multiple Emmy winner for his portrayal of Walter White in "Breaking Bad."

In 2014, Cranston bagged the prize for best actor at the 68th Tony Awards for his portrayal of president Lyndon B. Johnson in the Broadway play "All the Way."
