Here’s how you can watch the MMFF 2020 entries online

Since the pandemic has limited people from going out and gathering in large crowds, many industries have shifted to an online setup, including the Metro Manila Film Festival.

According to Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras” Tuesday, MMFF entries can be watched starting Dec. 25 through the Upstream.ph website.

The website, which was developed by Filipinos, works just like other international streaming platforms.

“For example sa mga kasama natin sa online platform, kami lang ang pwede ng pause, rewind, play, forward na mga features. ’Yung iba kung nag-start ka, hindi mo na pwede atrasin. Kailangan tapusin mo,” said Erik Matti, Upstream creative partner.

The website’s homepage shows the MMFF entries’ posters, and all viewers have to do is choose which films to watch, said Dondon Monteverde, Upstream.ph business partner.

“Tapos from there, may advance booking feature ang Upstream.ph. Gawin mo pindutin mo lang para mag-reserve ng ticket as early as now,” Monteverde said.

“Pindutin mo ‘reserve now’ ’yung ticket mo. Dadalhin ka na sa ticketing gateway namin. Doon ka magbabayad.”

Each ticket costs Php 250 or $10 for viewers abroad.

“Pagdating ng 25th to Jan. 7 real time na ’yan lahat,” Monteverde added.

Starting Dec. 25, Filipinos both locally and internationally can watch all 10 films from the comfort of their own homes. Included in the roster are “Coming Home,” “The Missing,” and “Tagpuan.” – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
