‘Catch Me Out Philippines’ to showcase world-class Filipino talent starting February

How do you distinguish an amateur from a professional in the entertainment industry?

Set to premiere next month, “Catch Me Out Philippines” will highlight “world-class acts” among Filipinos by honing amateurs through trainings and lessons from people in the industry for a month.

“Dadaan sila talaga sa training na para ’pag sinalang sila, as in ’di mo sasabihing amateur sila. Minsan, mas magaling pa kesa sa professional,” host Jose Manalo said.

“Ipapakita namin sa pilot ’yung pride ng Pilipinas, ’yung pride na kaya ng Pinoy,” celebrity spotter Derrick Monasterio added.

Tasked to give celebrity catchers hints on who the amateur is among the contestants, resident spotters Derrick and Kakai Bautista said the show would not only entertain, but also drive them to think and observe.

“Kailangan marunong kang tumingin ng mga konting pagkakamali para ma-spot mo. Kailangan magaling ka rin sa technicalities,” Derrick said.

According to Kakai, one of the reasons she joined the show is because of the opportunity to have a platform to share her thoughts.

“I don’t get the chance madalas na makapagsabi ng opinyon dito sa entertainment world,” she said.

With the first two episodes already taped, Jose proudly stated that although they’re just starting out, the amateurs were capable enough to do performances even for international audiences.

The contest is open to all, especially the ones who want to kickstart their career in the entertainment industry.

“Basta may pangarap ka, may gusto kang marating sa buhay, meron kang skill na gusto i-hone, welcome na welcome ka,” Derrick said.

Different from the original UK version, the Philippine franchise, which is the first in Asia, will delve deeper into the lives of the contestants.
