Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega will play Steve Armstrong and Jamie Robinson in GMA Network’s highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the hit Japanese anime series.

The actors for Mark Gordon, Big Bert, and Little Jon were previously announced to be Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho.

“Ang sarap sa pakiramdam, para akong nasa cloud nine at tuwing gigising ako sa umaga I'm so pumped eh,” Miguel said in Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras.”

Steve is the pilot of the Volt Cruiser, which transforms into Voltes V’s head. He is also the team leader of the crew.

“Si Steve leader siya e so dapat alam ko kung paano umasta bilang isang leader, paano 'yung confidence niya and of course nagbabasa din ako ng mga books about leadership at nakikinig ako ng mga podcasts,” Miguel said about his preparation for the role.

Ysabel’s character Jamie, meanwhile, is the ninja pilot of the Volt Lander, which transforms into Voltes V’s feet.

“Even before na mag-start pa 'yung official training namin gusto ko na magkaroon na ko kahit man lang ng konting background sa martial arts, sa kickboxing, sa Muay Thai so I can say na I’m more than ready,” she said.

Aside from the show being a classic, the Ysabel believes that it will inspire the country and the people, making it a great project.

“Voltes V has a lot of meaning to its story,” she said. “It’s not just about family, it’s not just about fighting for what you believe in. It’s about serving your country, it’s about being a hero in your own way and I would love to be someone who is in that position to inspire a lot of people.”

Miguel also said that the adaptation will be sure to bring back childhood memories for many Filipinos.

“Babalik iyong pagkabata ninyo, maaalala ninyo 'yung moments ninyo habang pinapanood ang Voltes V at sa mga ka-henerasyon ko ngayon ipaparanas namin kung ano nararamdaman ng nanay at tatay ninyo habang pinapanood ang Voltes V with a different flavor,” he said.

“Paparamdam namin sa inyo iyong lungkot, saya, epicness at marami pa pong iba,” he added.

A teaser for the highly-anticipated series was released in January and has already reached more than a million views on YouTube.

“Voltes V: Legacy” is directed by Mark Reyes. The official release date is yet to be announced.

The live action series has been licensed by Japan’s own Toei Company, Ltd. through its Philippine-licensor Telesuccess Productions, Inc.
