Heart Evangelista, Richard Yap to star in new GMA series ‘I Left My Heart in Sorsogon’

Heart Evangelista and Richard Yap are confirmed to star in a new drama series on GMA!

In Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras” Wednesday, it was revealed that the new Kapuso actor would play Heart’s leading man in “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.”

“I’m excited because we have common friends and I heard na mabait siya and easy to work with and I’m also very easy, so masaya,” she said.

The two are currently preparing for their month-long lock-in taping in Sorsogon province.

According to Heart, the series, which signals her television comeback, is her idea and “dream project.”

“I felt na it would be unique if I was able to really showcase Sorsogon through a soap and they asked me if I wanted to do a soap so sinabi ko, ‘pwede ba mag-soap sa Sorsogon?’” said Heart.

“Then [they approved] and then I was able to come up with the story, ’yung bet kong story concept,” she added.

In January, the Kapuso Queen of Creative Collaborations shared that the teleserye would showcase lots of “fashion and Chanel.”

Richard, meanwhile, had said that he wanted to work with Heart, as well as other Kapuso leading ladies.

“I Left My Heart in Sorsogon” is about a young woman whose status as a fashion socialite is shaken after she returns to her hometown, rediscovering her roots and rekindling her love for family, community, and an ex-flame.
