Ate Gay survives battle with pneumonia: 'This is my second life'


Ate Gay has overcome his harrowing battle with pneumonia.

In Facebook update last Sunday, Ate Gay informed his supporters that he was already on the road to recovery.

The comedian also shared before-and-after photos of red patches on his legs and scarring on his lips.

 

Nagpagaling nagpalakas .. tiniis ko dahil sa kagustuhan kong mabuhay .. sabi ng doktor pangalawang buhay ko na daw ito ..buti daw at ginusto kong gumaling ...

“Nagpagaling nagpalakas… tiniis ko dahil sa kagustuhan kong mabuhay (I'm recovering and gaining strength. I endured this because I wanted to survive),” Ate Gay said in the caption.

“Sabi ng doktor pangalawang buhay ko na daw ito… buti daw at ginusto kong gumaling (The doctor said I am now living my second life, and that it was a good thing I had the will to get better)” he added.

On Monday, Ate Gay also shared a TikTok video where he’s singing to Adele’s “All I Ask.”

“Magaling na ako (I've recovered),” he said. "Thank you Jesus."

Ate Gay, whose real names is Gil Morales, was diagnosed and admitted to the hospital last March 25.

According to his sister, Ate Gay was diagnosed with pneumonia that weakened his immune system. —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
