GMA Regional TV lauded at the 18th Philippine Quill Awards

Two of GMA Regional TV’s (RTV) campaigns earned honors at the 18th Philippine Quill Awards, further cementing its unparalleled community service to Filipinos in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Winning an Excellence Award under the Communication Management Division’s Corporate Social Responsibility category is ‘Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels.’

The campaign was introduced in May 2020 as a mobile version of GMA RTV’s Kapuso Barangayan—originally an activity held in different barangays across the regions. With the community quarantine brought about by the pandemic, GMA RTV introduced 'Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels' to reach more families and to directly provide residents the assistance they urgently need.

The areas covered include North Central Luzon, South Luzon, Central and Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Southern Mindanao. GMA RTV has already rolled out three legs of Kapuso Barangayan on Wheels, benefitting almost 12,000 families to date. The fourth leg is set to be conducted this April.

GMA RTV’s ‘Kapuso Campus Tour: The Regional Masterclass Series’, on the other hand, took home RTV’s second Excellence Award, this time in the Communication Training and Education category.

The series, which was launched in 2019, saw some of today’s most talented Kapuso personalities sharing their thoughts on various topics—from mobile journalism to choosing the country’s next leaders in this digital age.

RTV brought the Masterclass to seven key cities across the Philippines as a major component of the Network's election advocacy, “Pusuan ang Totoo”—a call to stand for what is true, to fight against corruption and disinformation, and to choose leaders who will truly serve the country.

The Philippine Quill Awards is considered the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communications. It was organized by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines (IABC Philippines), the first IABC chapter in Asia.
