Kris Bernal falls victim to 23 fake Grab food deliveries

Kris Bernal was victimized by 23 fake Grab food deliveries on Saturday night.

On Instagram, Kris detailed her experience over several posts. In one post, she shared a five-minute video that showed several riders arriving at their house, all from orders made by a person named Jen Jen Manalo.

In the post, a phone conversation between one of the riders and Jen Jen was also featured.

“Sila po yung umorder. Pakisabi diyan kay Kris Bernal tingnan yung Messenger niya,” Jen Jen was heard saying. “May umorder lang din sa ’kin at dalhin daw sa bahay nila.”

“Ay nako, kuya, ‘di ko na kasalanan ‘yan. Kasalanan ‘yan ni Kris Bernal,” she added.

Kris’ mom also talked to Jen Jen: “Anong nakukuha mo sa panloloko? ‘Di ka naawa sa mga Grab na pinaglololoko mo.”

In the caption, Kris said the orders’ amount were not a joke. There were two vans came by to pick her up, she said.

Appealing to the culprit, the actress said the Grab riders were also victims of the incident, not just her.

“[They] went all the way here to deliver several orders. I really feel bad for the riders’ efforts. This thing has been prevalent lately,” she wrote.

After a few hours, Kris also shared a video of her mom talking to the 23rd rider that came.

“Manloloko ‘yan. ‘Di namin kilala,” her mom was heard saying. To which, the rider could only respond with worry that the order should be paid through cash.

In another Instagram post, Kris wondered who could've done such a malicious act to her when she does not have enemies or have offended someone.

“I have no idea who did this and I can’t remember any incident that triggered this to happen. All I know is I didn’t do anything wrong to someone for me to deserve this kind of treatment.”

“I really hope that there was even a bit of sympathy to the riders. They are the main victims here. I hope the person who did this will feel a bit of conscience."

According to Kris, this isn’t the first time that the incident happened to her. She then shared a conversation where the same voice as Jen Jen’s was pretending to be her assistant.

“She asked to receive the products for free from a small business I promoted,” she wrote in the caption of her post and added that small business should be cautious.

“Please do a cross-checking and don’t allow them if they pretend to be my assistant and ask for free goods. I’ll never ask someone to order for me. I’ll order and buy it personally.”

In the comments sections of her posts, several celebrities including Tom Rodriguez, Sanya Lopez, Shaira Diaz and Carla Abellana expressed their concern and disappointment.

“Sobrang hassle at nakakatakot na nga para sa inyo, sobrang dehado pa yung mga Grab riders. Sa panahon ng pandemya, lahat naghihirap,” Tom wrote.

“Mas pinahihirapan nya pa lalo ang mga naghahanapbuhay [nang] matino,” he added.

On her Instagram stories, Kris thanked everyone who helped her report the incident and gave a head’s up to fellow TV personalities.

“Apparently, she has done this to a lot of celebrities already. To my fellow artists, when you need to provide your address, try your best to [give] a different address, name and number.”

“I feel really bad [for] all the riders and to my mom who’s already a senior and did everything she can to help me,” she continued.

In the same post, Kris said Grab has gotten in touch with her to resolve the issue.
