Dennis Trillo to attend 78th Venice International Film Festival for ‘On the Job: The Missing 8’

Dennis Trillo is set to attend the 78th Venice International Film Festival for Erik Matti’s “On the Job: The Missing 8,” which is among the official entries for the main competition.

On Cata Tibayan’s “24 Oras” report Wednesday, the Kapuso actor said their papers were already being processed and he was planning to fly to Italy next month.

“Nakakatuwa na hindi lang mag-premiere ’yung pelikula kundi kasama siya sa competition. ‘Yon pa lang, mapasama yung pelikula namin doon ay sobrang reward na sa aming lahat,” he said.

[I’m happy that the film will not only premiere, but is also part of the competition. The fact that our movie is included is already a reward for all of us.]

According to the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), “On the Job: The Missing 8” is the only Southeast Asian film selected for the main competition, which has 21 entries.

Apart from Dennis, the film also stars John Arcilla and Dante Rivero. It revolves around a journalist who looks into the disappearance of his colleagues.

The 78th Venice International Film Festival released the list of entries in July. The event, with the theme “The Venice Biennale: Cinema in the Time of COVID,” will run from Sept. 1 to 11. – Franchesca Viernes/RC, GMA News
