Maine Mendoza on Arjo Atayde’s COVID-19 incident in Baguio: ‘I hope he gets the chance to tell his side’

Maine Mendoza has reacted to the issue concerning her boyfriend Arjo Atayde, who recently left Baguio City while being positive for COVID-19.

According to a PEP.ph report, Mayor Benjamin Magalong told Regional News Group-RNG Luzon that the actor left the city without informing the authorities, which may have affected others.

He added that Arjo’s group also failed to follow safety protocols, while they were shooting for a film in the city, including not having a bubble and not undergoing a triage.

Arjo’s camp Feelmaking Productions Inc. on Wednesday responded, saying they have already reached out to the mayor and assured him of their compliance to their commitments.

Concerned by the issue, a netizen reached out to Maine on Twitter, saying she doesn’t want to believe that the actress is letting Arjo go with his actions.

The “Eat Bulaga” host then said that she is “not tolerating him,” saying she hopes Arjo could break his silence about the issue soon.

“There’s just so much you do not know about the story. And I hope he gets the chance to tell his side and the context of what had happened these past few days,” she said.

“I also hope you do not base your judgments solely on what you see online because you might just be seeing an angle of the real scenario,” she added.

According to Feelmaking Productions Inc., Arjo experienced COVID-19 symptoms including high fever, headaches, and difficulty in breathing.

Because of this, it was a mutual decision between them, the actor's parents and the doctors to rush Arjo, who had a pre-existing medical condition, to a Manila hospital. — Franchesca Viernes/LA, GMA News
