Paolo Contis' 'A Faraway Land' is #1 on Netflix Philippines, UAE, and Qatar

Major congrats to Paolo Contis!

The Kapuso comedian's new movie " A Faraway Land" tops the charts of several Netflix territories on opening weekend.

A quick check on the streaming platform will show you that the movie, set in Greenland's Faroe Islands, is currently number one in the Philippine market.

On his Instagram Stories, the jubilant actor said his thanks as he happily shared snaps that showed his movie topping Netflix UAE and Netflix Qatar.

"A Faraway Land" tells the story of a documentary reporter filming a series on overseas Filipino workers. He soon meets a married woman, sparking a complicated love story. Netflix interestingly describes it as "hugot."

This isn't the first time Paolo Contis shot up the Netflix charts. In July year, he dominated the Netflix Philippines charts in one weekend. As his sleeper movie with Alessandra de Rossi, "Through Night and Day," ranked number one, his other movie, the comedy "Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap," took the fifth spot.

Together with Paolo, actress Yen Santos top bills "A Faraway Land." It is streaming on Netflix. — LA, GMA News
