'KMJS,' 'The Clash' and more Kapuso programs, personalities win big at 34th PMPC Star Awards for TV


Several GMA programs received prestigious awards at the 34th Star Awards for TV this weekend, including "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" for "Best Magazine Show," "The Clash" for "Best Talent Search Program" and "Pepito Manaloto" for "Best Comedy Show," and "I-Witness" for "Best Documentary Program."

Kapuso actors, TV hosts, and news personalities also took home major prizes, including "24 Oras" news anchor Vicky Morales for "Best Female News Anchor," Jessica Soho as "Best Magazine Show Host," Dingdong Dantes for "Best Educational Program Host" and "Atom Araullo" for "Best Documentary Program Host."

Also making the network proud is the GMA News TV's "Taste Buddies" which was named PMPC's "Best Lifestyle Show." The program's headliners Solenn Heussaff and Gil Cuerva also bagged the award for "Best Lifestyle Show Host."

Meanwhile, in the drama department, Aiko Melendez for "Best Drama Supporting Actress" for "Primadonnas," while "Magkaagaw" was named "Best Daytime Drama Series."

Vic Sotto was named "Best Comedy Actor" for "Daddy's Gurl" while Manilyn Reynes won Best Comedy Actress for her performance in "Pepito Manaloto."

Joaquin Domagoso also shined bright as "Best New Male TV Personality" after appearing on GMA-7's "All Out Sundays."

Dingdong expressed his gratitude to his team and the viewers on Instagram, saying "Amazing Earth" is a "significant part not only of my profession, but also of my personal advocacies."

Dingdong was named "Best Educational Program Host" alongside former "Matanglawin" host "Kuya Kim" Atienza, who officially joined the Kapuso family last month. He will be headlining GMA-7's  upcoming news magazine show "Dapat Alam Mo" with Emil Sumangil and Patricia Tumulak.

Winners of the 34th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for TV were announced via STV at RAD channels on October 17. The Awards recognized programs that aired between September 2019 to August 2020.
