'Protégé' winner Krizza Neri comes out as a lesbian
Krizza Neri, the winner of GMA’s reality singing competition “Protégé,” just came out as a lesbian.
The singer proudly made the announcement via Instagram on Thursday.
Krizza posted a self portrait with a caption saying: “Let’s get one thing straight… I’m not,” followed by a rainbow emoji.
In an interview with Pep.ph, Krizza opened up about her relationships with women, the first one being the "trigger" of what made her realize that she was a lesbian.
“Tina-try ko noon na i-convince ang sarili ko na nagka-crush ako sa lalaki, pero hindi talaga,” she was quoted as saying in a report.
“Third year high school nang maramdaman ko na medyo may something, pero na-confirm ko talaga noong 16 years old ako. That was 2011,” she added.
2011 was also the year Krizza won GMA-7’s reality singing competition “Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break.” —Margaret Claire Layug/JCB, GMA News
