Aicelle Santos is still a loyal Kapuso after 15 long years with the network, renewing her contract with GMA Artist Center on Thursday, November 18.
In an interview with GMA News Online, the Kapuso singer and theater actress said she is "thankful for the trust that GMA has for me."
Aicelle said the best thing she learned throughout her career is patience.
"Patience is a virtue that's true, and if you have patience within you hindi ka maiinip. Starting in this industry as a singer and then going into theater and then hosting — this took time," she said.
Aicelle admitted that she"honestly did not expect that I would reach this far and this long in this career."
In fact, even after being tagged the First Undefeated Pinoy Pop Superstar, achieving eight straight wins in GMA Network's "Pinoy Pop Superstar" in 2006, Aicelle said she did not expect a career in showbiz.
And what a career it's been. In 2018, the Kapuso star took to the international stage, playing Gigi in the award-winning musical Miss Saigon.
Early this year, Aicelle became one of the judges of the singing competition show for kids "Centerstage."
When asked what she wanted to focus on as she renewed her contract, Aicelle said "I want to concentrate on music, go back to recording."
"'Yung mga serye will come second because nakatutok muna ako kay baby for now, very important 'yung growing years niya eh so I think it would be music for me for now," she said. — LA, GMA News
