Vin Abrenica reveals family’s battle with COVID-19 including Sophie Albert, 10-month-old baby Avianna

Vin Abrenica revealed that even his family wasn’t able to escape the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On Nelson Canlas’ “24 Oras Weekend” report Sunday, the actor said he started to experience symptoms after they attended a family gathering.

Vin’s test came back positive together with his fiancèe Sophie Albert and their 10-month-old daughter Avianna. The rest of those in the gathering were negative.

Apart from the symptoms, Vin said what made it worse was not being able to help comfort Avianna since he was also quarantined inside a room in their home.

“Naririnig mo yung torture ng iyak ng baby mo ta’s ‘di siya makatulog tsaka 'yung paghinga raw sabi ni Sophie so syempre naririnig ko lang sila,” he said.

With this incident, the actor said he wants to spread awareness to the public that even babies are prone to getting the virus.

“Sinasabi kasi dati na malakas immune system nila when it comes to COVID but this time, sapol sila. The hospitals, maraming babies at napaka hirap ‘pag tinamaan sila,” he said.

The actor said he is now negative for COVID-19, while Sophie and Avianna are on their way to recovery.

Aside from Vin and Sophie, other personalities who tested positive for COVID-19 include Iya Villania and her kids, Ina Raymundo and her family, Aga Muhlach and wife Charlene Gonzales, Tuesday Vargas, Candy Pangilinan, Pia Wurtzbach, Samantha Bernardo, Maureen Montagne, Winwyn Marquez, and Hidilyn Diaz, among others. —Franchesca Viernes/JAB, GMA News.
