Barbie Forteza plays daughter of bipolar mom on ‘Magpakailanman’

Barbie Forteza is playing the daughter of a bipolar woman on the latest episode of “Magpakailanman.”

Barbie is among the trending topics on Twitter Saturday night for her character as the devoted daughter of a woman suffering from a mental illness, who is portrayed by veteran actress Jackie Lou Blanco.

“Isang anak na walang sawang minahal at inalagaan ang kanyang ina na may mental illness na bipolar disorder,” said the episode description by GMA Network.

Describing her character, Jackie Lou said this was one of the most challenging roles she had portrayed.

“Challenging but rewarding. I feel blessed to take part in this episode that helps raise awareness and compassion for those going through mental health issues. A deeper respect for their families who take the journey with them. This is a story of a daughter’s unconditional love for her mother,” she wrote on Instagram.
