Beauty Gonzalez on her role in 'The Fake Life': 'People will love and hate me'

Beauty Gonzalez is set to play one of her most challenging roles yet in the upcoming GMA series "The Fake Life."

The actress will portray Cindy, the wife of Onats (Ariel Rivera), who is hiding a secret past that threatens her current marriage.

In a mediacon on Friday, Beauty said it was the first time that she'll be playing such a flawed character.

"People will love and hate me. Gusto kong makita kung anong reaction nila sa akin dito," she said.

Director Adolf Alix, Jr. described Beauty's character as "gray."

"Normally, laging babae 'yung center, ngayon parang equal, may babae saka lalaki, tapos may POV nila parehas. 'Yun siguro ang interesting doon kung paano papanorin ng audience 'yung ganong sitwasyon," he said.

"'Yung character niya parang gray, so maganda tignan kung paano papanorin si Beauty na hindi lang siya 'yung inaapi. Bida-kontrabida kung baga ang role niya," he added.

Despite the challenges that came with the role, Beauty said she was thankful for the opportunity.

"Iba-iba yung mga projects na binibigay sa akin and I love it, kasi na-cha-challenge ako," she said.

"The Fake Life" also stars Sid Lucero, Techie Agbayani, Jake Vargas, Kristoffer Martin, and Bea Binene.

Competing the cast are Will Ashley, Rina Reyes, Saviour Ramos, Bryan Benedict, Jenny Miller, and Faye Lorenzo.

The show will air on GMA this June. —JCB, GMA News
