Super Junior to meet fans instead of holding a concert

Super Junior has arrived for their “Super Junior World Tour Super Show 9: Road In Manila” concert or #SS9inManila tonight at SM Mall of Asia Arena, but given their circumstances, they have decided to postpone the show and do a meet and greet instead.

“First of all, after many long discussions between the promoter and the Super Junior members, we both agreed that it would be difficult to properly hold [#SS9inManila] as scheduled,” the group said in a statement.

Despite this, the members wanted to show their appreciation to their Filipino ELFs and would still meet with them tonight.

“However, the group wanted to meet and greet the fans who came to [Manila] to attend the concert, so we’d like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time.”

Details on the tickets and schedules would be announced soon, the statement said.

Members Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhun are already in Manila.

It was previously announced that member Siwon would not be able to participate because he tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Super Junior announced early on Saturday that member Eunhyuk’s father had passed away, and that he was not able to depart for Manila. The group requested to give Eunhyuk privacy.

It is the group’s sixth visit to the Philippines, following their December 2019 show at the same venue.

Part of the K-Pop industry’s second generation of idol groups, Super Junior is behind the hits “Sorry Sorry,” “Lo Siento,” and “Black Suit.”

The group released their comeback single and music video “Don’t Wait” on June 29, and their 11th album “The Road: Keep on Going” on July 12, which includes the track “Mango.” – RC, GMA News
