Gina Alajar all praises for 'Start-Up' leads Bea Alonzo, Alden Richards

Gina Alajar is all praises for Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards, the lead stars of  GMA-7's adaptation of hit Korean drama "Start-Up."

In a media conference on Friday, the veteran actress said Bea and Alden are already seasoned actors who are excellent at their craft.

Gina is playing the role of Mrs. Choi, who comes to the aid of Good Boy or the character in the original series named Han Ji Pyeong.

"First time ko makatrabaho si Bea, first time ko rin siya ma-meet. I was surprised kasi napakabait na bata, ang ganda ng pagkapalaki ng magulang niya," she said about Bea.

("I'm working with Bea for the first time, I also met her for the first time. I was surprised because she's so kind, her parents raised her well.")

Gina only had good things to say about Bea's acting skills and her professionalism.

"Ang galing niya mag-memorize. Bigyan mo siya ng mahabang linya, pagdating niya sa set, alam niya 'yung mga linya niya," she said. "She comes to the set prepared. She comes to the set early."

("She's very good at memorizing. Give her long lines, when she arrives at the set, she already knows them all.")

With Alden, meanwhile, Gina has worked with the Asia's Multimedia Star several times, dating back to "Tween Hearts."

She said that Alden has always been kind, but now he is more open and bubbly with his colleagues.

"Mas reserved siya before, pero ngayon, parang bata na he jokes with everyone, parang kiti-kiti na kung sinu- sino 'yung kinakausap. Nakukulitan ako sa kanya, kulit in a good way," she said.

("He's more reserved before, but now, he's like a child who jokes with everyone, he's talking to everyone. He's playful in a good way.")

"Paglabas niya ng dressing room niya he's prepared to work and lagi siyang on the go. Para bang maganda lagi ang gising niya sa umaga," she added. "Parang nakalimang espresso bago lumabas ng tent."

("When he goes out of the dressing room, he's prepared to work and he's always on the go. It's like he always wakes up on the good side of the bed. It's like he drank five cups of espresso before coming out of the tent.")

"Start-Up," which also stars Jeric Gonzales, Yasmien Kurdi, Kim Domingo, Jackie Lou Blanco, and Gabby Eigenmann, will premiere in September.
