Extraordinary Park Eun Bin on her first fan meet in Manila: 'The best thing that happened'

Metro Manila might be the first stop of Park Eun Bin's first Asian tour, “Eun-Bin Note: Binkan," but the South Korean actress clearly didn't need any warming up.

At the exclusive press conference before her Oct 23 show, the South Korean actress joyfully greeted the select members of the press in Filipino: "Magandang umaga, ako po si Eun Bin."

“I’m so happy that I’m here in the Philippines right now," Eun Bin said in Korean. "After the pandemic, finally I got to meet my fans. That’s the best thing that happened.”

This isn't Eun Bin's first time in the Philippines. She's already been to Cebu, and in fact, wanted to revisit the Queen City of the South, where she had captured many good memories the first time she was there.

Park Eun Bin debuted as an actress at an early age. "When I was young, I was into narration stories and speeches, and from there, I wanted to try acting," she said, adding the best thing about acting was getting to play out the different lives of people "that are very different from mine. I love that i get to play those lives," she said.

Now that her most recent project "Extraordinary Atty. Woo" is finished, Eun Bin said "I hope you will support whatever endeavors I get into in the future."

The presscon wrapped up with Eun Bin telling her Filipino fans: "Magandang araw po, mahal ko kayo!"

At the fan meet

Quickly, she made her way to the New Frontier Theater, where she greeted the Filipino BINGO gathered there the same way she greeted the press earlier: in effortless Filipino.

"Kumusta kayo? Ako po si Park Eun Bin. Ikinagagalak kong makita kayo." To the fans in the balcony area, she asked, "nakikita niyo ba ako sa taas?" - ensuring everyone will have a good time during the fan meet.

According to Eun Bin, her first tour is called Eun-Bin Note: Binkan because 'binkan' in Korean means blank and empty space. She wants to fill up the empty space with memories with her Filipino fans, she said.

As this was her first ever Asia tour, it will be Eun Bin's first time to meet international BINGO and she's curious as to why and where her fans started to like her.

Extraordinary acting genius Park Eun Bin

Having been at it since she was young,  Eun Bin shared her secret to the longevity of her career: She really loved her job. The amount of dedication she would give to studying her characters is evident in her excellent portrayal of them, like the struggling but hopeful violinist in Do You Like Brahms?, to the woman who hid her identity and became king in The King's Affection, and finally to her latest role, a lawyer with autism spectrum disorder in Extraordinary Atty. Woo.

When asked if she had any standards when choosing her project, Eun Bin said it really depends on her mood. For instance, upon receiving the script for "The King's Affection," she felt confident to say only she can play that role. Her incredible portrayal of Crown Prince Lee Hwi won her several acting awards.

Despite her accomplishments in the industry, she remains humble in saying that she does not consider herself as an acting genius; still, she admits, it's good to hear others say it.

Filipino fans Note to Eun Bin

Park Eun Bin's sincerity was evident in her answers, and in the way she gamely reenacted some scenes from her dramas.  She couldn't stop expressing her gratitude, saying "salamat po" and "mahal ko kayo" repeatedly.

But, she was in for a surprise when towards the end, she was shown a video tribute of her fans saying how much she helped them get through their problems, and how she was an inspiration to them.

Park Eun Bin shed tears while watching the video, and said that she was grateful that her fans were able to appreciate the roles that she played.  She also hoped that everyone was happy during the event and thanked the staff who made it possible for the fans to cheer with her.

She ended her fanmeeting with her own rendition of MYMP's version of "Especially for You," which she said was a special song that she will only sing in her Manila stop for her Filipino fans, and expressed her desire to return to the Philippines again. — LA, GMA News
