Valeen Montenegro, Chariz Solomon spill the beans on 'Bubble Gang' initiation for new cast members

If you’ve always wanted to be part of the cast that provides laughter to the Filipino audience for 27 years, here's how to pass the “Bubble Gang” vibe check, according to Valeen Montenegro and Chariz Solomon.

The Balitang Ina and Maritess United tandem shared in their interview on “Updated with Nelson Canlas” that they have some sort of initiation on new cast members.

Like for Dasuri Choi, Valeen said, “'Yung pinapalo natin ng paa.” They laughed before Valeen added, “Sabi natin kay Dasuri, initiation ‘to. Ginawa talaga namin.”

“Pero sa mga viewers ha, ito ay done by experts,” Chariz said. “Ginagawa namin sa isa’t isa.”

However, Chariz said that the true initiation happens when they get to spend time with the actors.

“Wala naman talagang formal initiation. Parang madalas na lang siya doon nakikipagkwentuhan tayo sa kanila. Kagaya ni Faith Da Silva,” she said.

Valeen added that these conversations usually happen during their break times.

“Doon talaga kami nakakapag-usap, nakakapag-gaguhan. 'Yung mga real talk, real talk talaga,” she said. “Nag-ti-TikTok kami, kung ano-ano ang ginagawa namin sa dressing room. 'Yung mga ganung bonding.”

“Parang i-invite namin yung guest or kung sino 'yung bago tapos titingnan namin kung mag-pa-pass siya sa vibe namin," she added.

Joking aside, the two stars said what makes their team united would be how they are driven by the same purpose.

“We all have an end goal which is magpasaya, maghatid ng bagong current events na to make it funny lang kahit gaano ka-serious ang mundo, kahit gaano ka-serious ang nangyayari during the pandemic and everything, nandito pa rin kami para magpasaya and to make life lighter, diba,” Valeen said.
