Joaquin Domagoso is best actor at 16th Toronto Film and Script Awards


Joaquin Domagoso bagged the Best Actor award at the 16th Toronto Film and Script Awards.

According to the event's website, Joaquin was recognized for his portrayal on “That Boy in the Dark” by director Adolf Alix Jr. 

The movie circles on Knight, who is suffering from a condition. While living with his grandfather, Knight experiences mysterious, paranormal things. Secrets that are slowly revealed will test Knight's bravery to face whatever shadows he will find in the dark.

Also starring Lotlot De Leon, Ramon Christopher, Glydel Mercado, Nanding Josef, Charo Laude, Kiko Ipapo, Sharmaine Santiago, and Aneeza Gutierrez, "That Boy in the Dark" will premiere on January 8 nationwide, Pep.ph reports.

According to Toronto Film Magazine, the Toronto Film and Script Awards aims to “promote arthouse film projects, indie artists, filmmakers and writers working in media.” 

"The mission of the festival is to recognize, promote, and screen international and Canadian film projects of all genres," it said in its website

Before “That Boy in the Dark,” Joaquin showcased his acting prowess on GMA Network’s “First Yaya.”
