Rica Peralejo talks about writing her marriage book 'Eleven Eleven': 'It comes from a vlog'

In November, Rica Peralejo released her first book "Eleven Eleven: Painting the Challenge and Beauty of Marriage," co-written by her husband Joseph Bonifacio.

It's a marriage book, she said in an interview on 'Surprise Guest With Pia Arcangel,' and it was inspired from a vlog.

"We did a vlog when we turned 11 years ... we're gonna be 13 na by January, pero nung nag-11 years kami, sabi ko halika nga mag-vlog nga tayo tungkol sa anniversary natin," she told host Pia.

"So 11 years kami, sabi ko let's think of 11 words that would, you know ... not really define but kind of like describe what we've been through in the last 11 years," she added.

The vlog became a hit among their viewers as many people loved it.

"Sabi ko uy grabe, gusto pala ng mga tao to," Rica said. "So eventually we said na why not turn it into a book, because you know a vlog is short eh, parang you kinda have like to shorten your thoughts."

"So sabi ko i-exhaust natin, ano ba talaga ang ibig sabihin natin sa bawat word na sinabi natin doon?" she added. "So 'yun 'yung book."

Previously, Rica said in an Instagram post that her 13 years with her husband were "marked by pain, mental health struggles, almost wanting to separate, and rising from the ashes sooner than we thought we will."

She added that "Eleven Eleven: Painting the Challenge and Beauty of Marriage" is for couples, old and new. It can even be fore single people who want to know what they'll get into if they choose to marry.

"That’s our story but I am sure we have universals where we crossover," she said. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
