GMA Network partners with Viu Philippines to reach more audiences worldwide

GMA Network has partnered with Viu Philippines for world-class content to reach more audiences all over the globe.

During the contract signing Thursday, GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes said the partnership will allow for more meaningful shows for Filipinos.

"We are honored and grateful that Viu Philippines is with us in our endeavor to produce original and top quality programs that can be consumed on various platforms," she said.

"Lalong gagalingan ng GMA 'yung production ng shows na ito dahil nga meron tayong partner na napakalaki in their [over-the-top] streaming business," she added.

("GMA will do even better in the production of these shows because we have a partner that has a huge streaming business.")

As the collaboration starts, Viu Philippines' Head of Content Partnerships Garlic Garcia highlighted that they will also put a spotlight on Filipino talent when it comes to storytelling.

"With GMA, Viu has found a partner that has a proud legacy of unique storytelling that truly knows how to touch and inspire its Filipino audiences all over the world," she said.

"As creators, producers, I think it's so important to stand for content that has good values and that's what GMA has. That's what we would like to uphold in this partnership."

The first GMA shows to be streamed on Viu will be "The Write One," starring Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid, and "Love Before Sunrise," which is headlined by Bea Alonzo and Dennis Trillo.

Though the contract has just been signed, officials assured that "this is just the beginning" as more shows are in line to be premiered on the streaming platform.

Also among those present at the contract signing are GMA Network First Vice President for Public Affairs Nessa Valdellon, GMA Network Senior Vice President for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, and Viu Philippines Deputy General Manager Vinchi Sy-Quia.
