Garrett Bolden says fellow Kapuso artists helped him in self-love journey
Garrett Bolden, now known as the Kapuso Soul Balladeer, is not immune to insecurities and worries.
Admitting that he doubted himself a lot before, Garrett said that along with new learnings and experiences, being surrounded by his fellow Kapuso artists helped him in his self-love journey.
“Lagi akong [nag]-o-overthink eh,” Garrett answered GMA News Online during a virtual press conference for his first EP album “Chapters.”
“Siguro, pag nag-pe-perform ako, baka tinatawanan nila ko or baka magkamali ako.”
But Garrett said that he overcame this because he was in a good environment.
“For example, sa ‘All Out Sundays,’ sa kasama kong artists,” he said. “Nandiya-diyan yung support system talaga na parang they help you bring out the best in you whenever [and] every time you perform."
Because of that, Garrett applies this to every performance.
“I just think of just sharing myself, doing [the] best that I can,” he said.
With five tracks, “Chapters” chronicles the singer’s journey. It includes the previously released singles “Lilipad Na,” “Handa Na Maghintay,” “Our Love,” and “Pwede Pa Ba.” The album’s carrier single is Garrett’s revival of Kris Lawrence's song, “Ikaw Pala.”
“Chapters” will be available for download and streaming on digital stores worldwide on January 27 under GMA Music. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
