Dolly De Leon credits ‘Triangle of Sadness’ director Ruben Östlund for her nominations

Dolly De Leon made history with her Golden Globes and BAFTA Film Awards nominations for “Triangle of Sadness,” and she credits it all to her director Ruben Östlund.

At Wednesday's press conference in UP Diliman, the actress who played Abigail said it was Östlund who made way for a great story and performance.

“Siya talaga eh. I owe him my life. I owe that man my life and alam niya ‘yon. I have told him that. He changed everything for me,” she said.

“It’s his script, his directing style, his vision, his genius. It’s him. Siya talaga,” she added with a smile.

Dolly said Östlund was also really open with suggestions from their team and for that, she’s grateful.

“Hindi siya naka-limit sa isang kahon. Wala siyang set way of doing things. ‘Pag nakita niyang may contribution yung actors, wine-welcome niya.”

At the press conference, Dolly admitted to feeling sad and even crying after she was snubbed in the Oscars

"I felt bad for about two to three days and then after that, okay na," she said.

"This is a game that we’re all playing, anyway — this award thing," she added.

Dolly will be flying to London on the 16th for the BAFTA Film Awards, where she was nominated Best Supporting Actress along with Angela Bassett, Hong Chau, Kerry Condon, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Carey Mulligan. — LA, GMA Integrated News
