Hernando actor on cutting off FiLay's kiss in 'Maria Clara at Ibarra': 'Sorry na agad'

Felt bitin with Fidel and Klay's almost-kiss on "Maria Clara at Ibarra?"

On Instagram, Wednesday, Luri Vincent Nalus, the actor who plays the coachman Hernando, apologized for not letting the most awaited scene happen.

Fidel and Klay almost shared a kiss during their heartfelt reunion in the series, but Hernando interrupted the moment to remind them that they are still being pursued by authorities.

"Sorry na agad - Hernando. Help," Luri jokingly wrote, tagging David Licauco and Barbie Forteza.

In another post, Luri gave an excuse for doing what he did, sharing a photo of the woman who told the Alferez about what's happening at the barracks.

"Kung hindi lang nagsumbong itong si ate, hindi sana kami mag mamadali eh (hanap damay)," he said.

On Tuesday, Hernando was among the top trending topics on Philippine Twitter with over 6,380 tweets from fans asking why he had to appear at that very moment.

As seen in Lhar Santiago's "24 Oras" report, Luri also said in his defense that Fidel and Klay could have still kissed and that he had no choice but to call the two.

"Pwede namang smack ah," he said. "Padating na nga sila Alperes, anong gagawin ko? Iligtas ko sarili ko, pagbabarilin sila ni Alperes, eh magkayakap nga sila."

Also starring Julie Anne San Jose, Dennis Trillo, and David Licauco, "Maria Clara at Ibarra" is based on Dr. Jose Rizal's novels.

The series airs on GMA Telebabad on weekdays after "24 Oras." It is also streamed on GMANetwork.com/KapusoStream, the GMA Network app, and the GMA Network website.
