David Licauco responds to the assumption that he's 'rich and privileged'

In an interview on "Updated With Nelson Canlas," the Kapuso actor gamely said that yes, his family is "comfortable," but not everything was given to him.

"Lahat ng meron ako ngayon pinagtrabahuhan ko ‘yun," he said.

"Kaya siguro iniisip nila na parang lahat nga given sa akin, na parang everything was easy, like, you know. Pero hindi, pinaghirapan ko lahat and meron din akong hardships na hindi lang nila alam kasi ‘yun na nga outside appearance ko, like the way I post on Instagram na parang all happy," he added.

David said that everyone has their own problems, and that "depende 'yun sa box mo e."

"Simple lang ako. Siguro iniisip ng mga tao na medyo rich kid nga pero hindi naman talaga," he added.

He also address the misconception that he's "mayabang at suplado."

"Honestly, I get that a lot e, na mayabang daw ako. ‘Yung look ko kasi parang nakasimangot ako palagi and may reason ‘yun kung bakit," he said.

David explained that he suffers from sleep apnea, and that's why he's in a bad mood in the mornings.
