Did you know? Solenn Heussaff started her career as Mond Gutierrez's makeup artist

Before Solenn Heussaff became one of the most multifaceted artists of her generation, she was first a makeup artist of her dear friend, Mond Gutierrez.

On Vicki Belo's vlog dubbed "Solenn Heussaff & Mond Gutierrez spill the tea," Mond recalled how Solenn found her way into the show business industry.

According to Mond, when Solenn moved to the Philippines, she was doing some modeling, but she wanted makeup to be her main thing.

"So I asked her, 'Sos, why don't you do my makeup for my shows, and let's see how it turns out for you. Maybe we can suggest you for ads in the future'," he recalled.

"She started coming with me to GMA to my hosting gigs, doing my makeup, and obviously when she walks in the room, everyone's like, 'Who's that girl? Is that Mond's makeup artist?'" Mond added.

From there, Solenn flourished in her makeup career and even did Rufa and Richard Gutierrez's makeup for TV.

After some time, Mond pushed Solenn to explore oncam work, forcing her to join the show "Survivor Philippines."

"I honestly pushed her, forced her to join Survivor," Mond said.

In the reality show, Solenn quickly surprised audiences with her koboy attitude. In 2010, she became one of the runner-ups in "Survivor Philippines," where she got discovered to star in other GMA shows.

Over the years, Solenn has worn many hats in showbiz, including a host of "Taste Buddies," Cassiopeia in the "Encantadia" reboot, and starred in many movies of different genres.

Outside of showbusiness, Solenn is also an accomplished artist, a designer, and a businesswoman.
