Even the bad guys can teach some meaningful lessons.

In fact, for Martin Del Rosario and Liezel Lopez, who play the not-so-typical kontrabidas on "Voltes V: Legacy," their characters have very profound wisdom to share.

Martin plays Prince Zardoz, the Voltes team’s archenemy who leads the invasion of Earth. Liezel plays Zandra, Zardoz’s trusted aide who’s got some sinister plans for him to fight the Voltes V. They also share a love story.

In a virtual interview with members of the media, Martin and Liezel told GMA News Online that there are lots to learn from Zardoz and Zandra.

For Martin, he wants to tell Kapuso viewers, “Huwag kang magpapalamon sa galit.”

He added that Zardoz got too caught up with his insecurities and pressure, that he focused too much on the negative. “Sa sobrang feeling niyang hindi siya accepted, gumawa siya ng mga masasamang bagay. In short, nagpalamon siya sa galit.”

Without spoiling anything, Martin said that Zardoz will get his redemption arc.

“Parang nabulag siya sa katotohanan. Hindi ko pwedeng ma-spoil kasi kung ano yung mga katotohanan, mga truths behind it. Pero eventually, may redemption, may realizations sa bandang dulo,” he said.

For Liezel, she shared that there is a “right way to love and there is also a wrong way to love someone.”

“I think yun yung makikita [ng audience] dito, na what happens kapag minahal mo yung tao sa maling paraan,” the Kapuso actress said.

She added, “So medyo may mga tragedy. Pero feeling ako ano, magugustuhan din nila yung mga simple stories, yung mga backstories per character.”

Before its premiere on GMA Network, “Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience” will exclusively be shown in SM Cinemas from April 19 to 25. This film will include material from the first three weeks of the series. — LA, GMA Integrated News
