Martin del Rosario clarifies 'starfish incident'

Martin del Rosario on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" Friday clarified his starfish photo that recently drew flak from netizens.

"Hindi ko talaga alam na pag tinanggal 'yung starfish sa water, mamamatay sila," Martin began.

According to the Kapuso celebrity, he was enjoying himself on the beach, when he spotted a group of foreigners playing with some starfish. 

When they left, the curious Martin decided to hop over their spot. "Nakita ko 'yung starfish, nagandahan ako, nilagay ko sa katawan ko," he narrated, adding it wasn't as if he purposely searched for them in the water and removed them there to play with.

"Nag-picture ako [with the starfish sa katawan ko] for around 2 minutes," he continued.

"Hindi ko talaga alam," Martine emphasized. "And gusto ko magpasalamat sa mga nag-inform sa 'kin at nag-educate sa 'kin."

"Duon naman sa mga nag sespread ng hate, hindi talaga ako pumapatol," he said.

During the interview, Martin admitted he was really "lapitin sa mga bashers."

"Hindi ko nga alam bakit," he said.

Martin uploaded the starfish photo on Facebook last March 2, which quickly turned viral for, well, for the wrong reasons.

Glad to know Martin learned from the experience and was humble enough to thank those who educated him.
