Valerie Concepcion turns emotional recalling difficult teenage years

Valerie Concepcion turned emotional on Friday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda."

The King of Talk ended the Fast Talk portion of the interview by asking Valerie to give an advice to her teenage self.

"Alam natin na hindi biro ang pinagdaanan ng teenage self ko," Valerie began. "So sicuro, ma-a-advuce ko sa kanya is, girl you've got this. Kahit ano pa ang pagdaanan mo, as long as you have your family, you've got this," she continued as she choked up with tears.

When Tito Boy asked "why the tears," Valerie explained she was just feeling grateful.

"I just feel like, teenager pa lang ako, ang dami ko nang pinagdaanan. I had to mature right away na hindi ko na-enjoy pagiging teenager ko. I mean, I was able to but I didn't fully enjoy pagiging teenager ko. To be where I am right now — I'm so happy with my life. I feel so contended. I feel so grateful."

According to the "Seed of Love" actress, she's wanted to be married since the age of 23.

"I really wanted to get married. I think I'm so in love with the idea of being in love, and having a kid at a very young age, of course you want someone to be there for your child. Being a single mom, I want someone for my daughter, I want my daughter to have a father figure. I wanted someone to be a father to her kasi wala yung tatay niya," she said.

Valerie was an up and coming teenage actress when she suddenly got pregnant. That was more than 18 years ago.

Her child from that pregnancy, a beautiful daughter named Heather Fiona, has not only graduated from high school last year, she's also turned 18 in October 2022.
