Kyline Alcantara says she rode a vegetable delivery truck to audition in Manila

As a young girl from Bicol, Kyline Alcantara had humble beginnings before making it in the showbiz industry.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Sparkle actress said her family did not even have the money for the fare to Metro Manila so she could audition for roles.

Seeing Kyline's enthusiasm, however, her mom did everything she could to support her dream.

"Wala po kaming pambayad sa bus, kahit po ordinary bus lang, hindi po 'yung may aircon," Kyline said.

"So may palengke po dun sa Bicol pumunta po dun si mama and nagtanong po siya sa isang tindera na kaibigan niya po dun, 'Uy meron ka bang mga ipapadala sa Manila?'"

That was how Kyline began pursuing a showbiz career.

"Sumabay po kami sa truck na punong-puno ng gulay, at may mga kasama kaming boys kasi s'yempre po magbubuhat po sila eh," she said.

Kyline said she experienced many rejections, but there were also several people who helped her along the way.

Now, she is one of the most promising young actresses in GMA. She previously starred in "Kambal, Karibal," "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon," and "Zero Kilometers Away."

Kyline is also starring in "Luv Is: Love At First Read" together with her love team Mavy Legaspi.

"Luv Is: Love At First Read" premieres on Monday, June 12, at 5:40 p.m. before "24 Oras."
