Angie Ferro has passed away


Angie Ferro has passed away on Thursday, August 17. She was 86.

The unfortunate news was confirmed to GMA News Online by her grandson, Joshua, who sent details about the memorial service of the award-winning actress.

According to Joshua, it will take place tonight, Friday, at St. Peter Chapel on Quezon Avenue.

Her cremation will take place on August 22.

On his Facebook account meanwhile, Joshua reshared clips from Angie's 2019 movie, "Lola Igna," and said, "Pahinga na po lola."


In a report, Pep.ph said the veteran actress endured a stroke in May last year and had been unable to recover.

She died at 5:02pm on Thursday, August 17, Pep.ph said.

Meanwhile on Facebook, FAMAS mourned Angie's passing and recalled her first acting award: A FAMAS Best Supporting Actress for the movie "Pagputi ng uwak...Pag-itim ng Tagak" in 1979.

Angie most recently bagged the Best Actress trophy at the 7th Urduja Heritage Film Awards in 2020 for her work in "Lola Igna."
