David Licauco plans to undergo surgery for sleep apnea after ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’

David Licauco said that he plans to undergo an operation after "Maging Sino Ka Man" to address his sleep apnea condition.

Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which breathing stops and starts repeatedly.

In Nelson Canlas’ report on "24 Oras'' on Friday, the Pambansang Ginoo said that people sometimes mistake him for being a snob because of his condition.

“Gusto ko nang magpa-opera after this show, so hopefully I find the time na magawa ko ‘yun kasi I think sleep is the best gift by God,” he said.

David added, "I tend to be, parang iniisip ng mga tao na mataray ako, suplado, but actually may nape-feel kasi ako sa umaga na bigat eh, so parang wala ka sa mood, so I had to work out."

In July, David opened up about his struggles with sleep apnea.

The actor said that it usually makes him late on set for taping.

"My breathing stops for like mga 30 seconds straight, 24 times in an hour," he said. “So, all throughout the night, hirap ako eh. So stressed ako. So paggising ko sa umaga, I’m stressed also.”

David will star in “Maging Sino Ka Man” with Barbie Forteza.

It will mark Team BarDa’s return to GMA Telebabad, following their incredibly successful tandem in the historical portal fantasy series "Maria Clara at Ibarra."

They will be joined by Jean Garcia, Faith da Silva, Rain Matienzo, Mikoy Morales, Juancho Triviño, Jeric Raval, E.R. Ejercito, and Jean Saburit.  — Carby Basina/VBL, GMA Integrated News
