Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes talk about 'Rewind's' official trailer, excited to share the movie with viewers

“What would you give to bring back all that you lost?”

This is the question posed by the official trailer of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Rewind,” which was released today.

After the trailer’s special screening, Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera sat down with Aubrey Carampel for a special interview on “24 Oras,” Monday.

Aubrey shared that from the trailer alone, viewers can't help but cry and feel emotional because of the sneak peek.

“Naku ang masasabi ko lang (ay) ang mae-expect nila ay hindi lang ‘yung napanood nila. Definitely higit pa doon sa buong pelikula itself kaya excited na excited na kaming ma-share at maipalabas ang pelikula namin,” Dingdong said.

[Oh, what I can say is that what they can expect is not just what they've seen. It's definitely more than the entire movie itself, so we're very excited to share and release our film.]

Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, “Rewind” is DonYan’s first movie as husband-and-wife, and also marks their return to the big screen after 13 years.

“Definitely paglabas mo ng sinehan, you will feel inspired, you will feel loved, and at the same time, magiging maganda ang paggawa mo ng New Year’s resolution mo sa darating na taon,” Dingdong added.

[Definitely, when you come out of the cinema, you will feel inspired, you will feel loved, and at the same time, your crafting of your New Year’s resolution for the coming year will be beautiful.]

From the trailer, we get a glimpse of Dingdong and Marian’s characters – John and Mary and their life as a married couple with a son. It talks of second chances and what you would give back to spend another day with your loved ones.

This prompted Aubrey to ask the couple how they handle the problems that come their way.

“Sa buhay mag-asawa even in a relationship, kahit anong relasyon, hindi maiiwasang merong mga hindi pagkakaunawan. Pero sabi ko nga kung may ganun mang pagkakataon siguro mas maganda na very transparent kayo sa isa’t-isa,show respect and love pa rin, after all diba. At tsaka maaayos at maaayos nyo yan sa mabuting pag-uusa. Lahat nadadaan doon,” shared Marian.

[In married life, even in a relationship, whatever kind of connection, there will inevitably be misunderstandings. But as I always say, if ever such moments arise, maybe it's better to be very transparent with each other, show respect and love. And then, you can resolve and sort things out through good communication. Everything can be resolved through that.]

Rewind” premieres on December 25 in Philippine cinemas.
