Heart Evangelista shares her 6 favorite Tagalog words in Harper's Bazaar video
Heart Evangelista shared her six favorite Tagalog words during her Harper's Bazaar Singapore cover shoot.
On Instagram, the women's fashion magazine posted a video where the Kapuso star and global fashion icon gave a rundown of her favorite Tagalog words, starting with "Charot."
"Charot, meaning like C-H-A-R-A-U-G-H-T, like it's more saucy," Heart said with a laugh.
"The meaning of this is more like just kidding or whatever, so we use this a lot," she added. "It's a very funny word."
The second one is "Kilig," which she described as a "powerful Tagalog world."
"Basically, when you see someone, like if you see your favorite K-pop star, or when you see your crush, 'Oh my gosh, 'I'm so kilig,' like that," she said.
The third one is the tongue twister word, "Nakakapagpabagabag."
"So nakakapagpabagabag is like, it's bothersome, or 'I'm bothered'," she said.
The fourth one is the phrase "Ayoko na."
“Ayoko na means I don’t want. You can also use it like ayoko na, meaning I cannot anymore," Heart said.
The fifth and sixth ones are "Grabe" and "Kaloka."
"Grabe, it's like extreme," she said. "You can use it all the time, like, 'Grabe, it's so hot.'"
On the other hand, Heart described "Kaloka" as an expression you can use to describe an extreme or crazy-like situation.
Earlier this month, Harper's Bazaar Singapore unveiled its December issue with Heart fronting the cover with a fierce wet look.
Without a doubt, Heart is a force to be reckoned with in fashion. In the recent Milan Fashion Week, Heart was the top influencer who generated media impact values amounting to $1.4 million.
