At ‘It’s Showtime’ signing: ABS-CBN's Carlo Katigbak thanks GMA ‘for this historic occasion’

Carlo L. Katigbak, ABS-CBN’s president and CEO, humbly thanked GMA Network for giving “It’s Showtime” a new home.

During the contract signing of “It’s Showtime” at GMA Network on Wednesday afternoon, Katigbak said this partnership is another “historic occasion” for both the Kapuso and the Kapamilya network.

“Cory [Vidanes] really wanted us to come here today, to the GMA building, because we wanted to prove to you how special this partnership is to us,” Katigbak said in his speech.

“In our 30 years working in ABS-CBN, we have never walked through your doors, so thank you for this historic occasion,” he added.

Katigbak expressed his utmost gratitude to GMA Network for their new partnership.

“We remember we thanked you once for your kindness when you gave showtime a home in GTV,” he said. “Thank you again for welcoming ‘It’s Showtime,’ this time for both GMA and GTV.”

“One of the reasons why our partnership has been so successful is that we share the same objective of bringing the best stories and the best programs to as many Filipinos as possible,” he added.

Katigbak addressed the “It’s Showtime” family and asked them to give their best when the noontime show finally airs on GMA Network next month.

“We’ve been given a very special opportunity to work with GMA, let’s go the extra mile, guys, to prove to our partners that we deserve this chance and that we are worthy of the trust that they put in us,” he said.

“To Vice and our family at ‘It’sShowtime,’ thank you for all that you do for us and for never giving up,” he added.

It’s Showtime” is set to air on GMA Network starting on April 6, alongside GTV.
