Marian Rivera, Gabby Concepcion, Raphael Landicho say 'My Guardian Alien' highlights family and values

“My Guardian Alien” is an intriguing story about an alien accidentally crashing into Earth and all the lives she affects, but lead stars Marian Rivera, Gabby Concepcion, and Raphael Landicho say that there is definitely something more than the fantasy elements.

At the series’ media conference at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on Thursday, Marian, Gabby, and Raphael—who play a family on the show—say that there are a lot of lessons that Kapuso viewers can pick up.

Marian said that the series will raise questions about one’s personal meanings of life.

“Ano ba ang offer namin dito para sa tao, para malaman nila ano ba ang kahulugan ng totoong buhay,” the Kapuso Primetime Queen said. “Ano ba para sa ‘yo ang buhay? Pagmamahal ba ‘yan? Pagmamalasakit sa kapwa mo? O sarili mo lang iniisip mo?”

The top actress added that a key takeaway from the series will be love for family. She also said that she agreed to do the project so her kids could watch the series.

“Ang pamilya ay pamilya. Kahit anong mangyari, mamahalin mo ang pamilya mo sa abot ng makakaya mo,” Marian said.

Gabby agreed and added, “Pagkatapos ba ng araw, ano ba ang gusto mong ipakita? Lahat ba ‘yan ay para sa ‘yo lang o para sa ibang tao?”

Raphael said that viewers can learn a lot about the importance and values of their parents.

“Kailangan mahalin mo na sila hanggang nandiyan pa. Baka bukas, pagtingin mo, wala na pala sila,” the young actor said.

“Tsaka syempre yung magulang niyo kahit ano sila, kahit alien ba ‘yan, unicorn, tanggapin niyo pa rin sila,” Raphael added with a smile.

My Guardian Alien” revolves around an alien named 11-1-20-8-5-22-9-12-5. She is contained in a pod, and lands on planet Earth after an accidental crash from outer space.

The alien takes the form of a deceased woman named Katherine.

Due to her presence, the lives of Katherine’s husband, Carlos (Gabby), and their son, Doy (Raphael) will turn upside down.

Award-winning director Zig Dulay is at the helm of the series, which is also Marian’s comeback TV project after five years. More cast members include Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Kiray Celis, Arnold Reyes, Tanya Gomez, Caitlyn Stave, Josh Ford, Sean Lucas, Tart Carlos, Christian Antolin, Kirst Viray, and Marissa Delgado.

Turning the series into a children’s book with important life lessons is also in the works.
