Claudine Barretto remembers Rico Yan on his death anniversary: ‘Always and forever’

Claudine Barretto made sure to pay tribute to her former boyfriend and ka-love team Rico Yan on his 22nd death anniversary.

The actress posted an Instagram Reel of pictures and clips with Rico from their projects and appearances together, including parts of Claudine’s interview with Karen Davila, wherein she called Rico her “one great love.”

In the caption, Claudine said, "March 29 My heart stopped” followed by broken heart emojis.

She also added the hashtag, #AlwaysAndForever.

Rico died of cardiac arrest due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on March 29, 2002. He was 27 years old.

Claudine often posts about Rico on social media. In 2021, she shared the late actor’s sweet love letter for her. She would also visit Rico’s grave and celebrate his birthday with a cake.

In a 2018 appearance on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Claudine admitted to having panic disorder, which for her was a result of stress from work, the death of Rico, and the shame of it all.

“I was working every single day because I wanted to tire myself para pag-uwi ko, tulog na lang. Hindi ko na maiisip 'yung pagkamatay ni Rico,” said Claudine, adding she never really got to grieve the death of her Rico.

Some of Claudine and Rico’s top films include “Got 2 Believe” and “Flames: The Movie.” The longtime loveteam also appeared in the series “Mula sa Puso.”

Claudine’s comeback project “Lovers/Liars” aired its finale in February.

Claudine was previously married to Raymart Santiago. They have two kids: Sabina and Santino.
