Ion Perez drops out of race for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac

Television host Ion Perez has announced in his social media account that he will not pursue his candidacy for councilor in Concepcion, Tarlac.

"Sa mga kalugar ko diyan sa Concepcion, una po maraming salamat sa tiwala at suporta niyo na ibinigay sa akin. Pinapaalam ko lang po na hindi na po ako tatakbo o tutuloy bilang konsehal ng Concepcion, Perez said.

The "It's Showtime" host said that he wanted to prepare himself before running for public office.

"Gusto ko po munang ihanda ang sarili ko para hindi mapahiya sa inyo at mapaglingkuran kayo ng tama," he said.

"Muli po, maraming maraming salamat sa inyong tiwala. Paumanhin po," he added.

Perez, Vice Ganda's partner, filed his Certificate of Candidacy on Oct. 1, 2024. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
