Desiree del Valle recalls slapping Paolo Contis too hard on set back in the day: ‘Hindi niya kinaya’
Desiree del Valle had to slap Paolo Contis for a scene in the 1999 series “Tabing Ilog” while they were in the middle of a conflict.
On Tuesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Desiree recalled that Paolo was her onscreen partner then and that he also became her suitor.
“Ang ganda nga eh,” she said, talking about the scene. “We were fighting as Corrinne and Badong, so I slapped him and sobrang ang sakit, na-cut. Nagpa-cut siya. Sabi niya, ‘Cut, cut.’ Kasi sobrang sakit daw ng sampal ko, hindi niya kinaya.”
Admittedly, Desiree said that the slap was also real “kasi magkagalit kami eh.”
According to the actress, she and Paolo are now OK and that they were on good terms when the series ended.
They even reunited and worked together again on a different project.
“So, we were OK. May girlfriend siya no’n, ako, I was single, but you know, we did our job as actors,” she said.
Desiree and Paolo starred in “Tabing Ilog” with John Lloyd Cruz, Patrick Garcia, Kaye Abad, Baron Geisler, Jodi Sta. Maria, Paula Peralejo, and more
She is set to star in “Mga Batang Riles” with Miguel Tanfelix, Kokoy De Santos, Raheel Bhyria, Bruce Roeland, and Antonio Vinzon.
"Mga Batang Riles" is directed by Richard Arellano. It is set to premiere in January 2025.
