Rufa Mae Quinto warns vs. scammers using her name to ask for money: 'Be ware and aware'

Rufa Mae Quinto alerted her social media followers about some scammers using her name to ask for money.

On Instagram, the actress-comedienne shared screenshots of conversations initiated by someone who introduced themself as Rufa.

The person asked to borrow P45,000, saying Rufa needed it for posting bail.

“Mga scammers po asking money using my name . Wala po akong Kailangan financial support Kahit kanino. And I’m not asking money Hinde ko po cel no. Yan at Hinde ako yan,” Rufa wrote in the caption.

“Paki kalat nyo nga po please itong gusto mang hingi ng pera sa mga kakilala ko. Wag na kayo gumawa ng kwento at naireport ko na kayo sa lawyer ko. Friends be ware and aware! Salamat for sharing to all,” she added.

Rufa Mae was recently involved in an investment scam in relation to the issue of Dermacare.

She was charged with 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code, which states that securities such as shares and investments may not be sold in the Philippines without a registration statement duly filed with and approved by the SEC.

Following her arrest warrant, Rufa Mae denied her involvement and cooperated with the authorities, voluntarily surrendering to the NBI. She has since posted bail for P1.7 million.
