Jennylyn Mercado renews ties with GMA Network
Jennylyn Mercado remains a Kapuso as she renewed her contract with GMA Network on Tuesday.
The homegrown Kapuso actress has nothing but gratitude to the network she's called her home for 21 years.
"I am here, I am back, I am home. Kapuso pa rin tayo at taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng tumulong sa akin, at of course, sa GMA, sa patuloy na pagmamahal at sa patuloy na pag-support at pagtanggap pa rin po sa akin," Jennylyn said.
"To be here means so much. At wala po akong ibang nararamdaman kundi gratitude. Salamat po sa inyo," she added.
Present at the contract signing were GMA Network President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Aguila Entertainment Chief Executive Officer Katrina Aguila.
"I'm very grateful and very happy that we're having this signing this morning, not because there was this thought na baka hindi na magpatuloy as Kapuso si Jennylyn, kundi dahil nagdesisyon na siyang bumalik," said Duavit.
Jennylyn was thrust into the limelight in 2003 when she joined the first season of the reality competition “StarStruck,” where she was eventually hailed as the Ultimate Survivor.
She then went on to star in various Kapuso shows such as “Super Twins,” “Rhodora X,” and “Encantadia.” She also top-billed several movies such as the MMFF films “Walang Forever,” and “English Only Please” which gave her two Best Actress accolades.
The Kapuso Ultimate Star is set to make an acting comeback with the movie “Everything About My Wife” which also stars her husband, Dennis Trillo, and Sam Milby.
Aside from being an actress, Jennylyn is also known for her music, with songs "Kahit Sandali" and "Sa Aking Panaginip," as well as "Moments of Love" with Janno Gibbs, to name a few. Her last releases were the album "Jen's Gems" in 2016 and the single "Merry Christmas, Darling" in 2017.
She is also gearing up for a comeback album. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
