BINI responds to lip sync allegations, 'feeling K-pop' comments, other criticisms

BINI just made their first-ever “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” appearance!

On Friday’s episode, the Nation’s Girl Group addressed some allegations and the usual comments they receive.

When asked what they can say to the naysayers who were skeptical about the group becoming successful, Stacey has nothing but gratitude.

“Kasi sila talaga ‘yung nag-push sa amin, sila ‘yung nag-inspire para mag-work harder kami. And ayon, parang at the end of the day, meron pa ring affected kami pero hindi kami magpapatalo kahit mga dummy account lang ‘yang mga ‘yan na nagtatago, so deadma,” she said.

Responding to “feeling K-pop” comments, Colet admitted that it is saddening for them.

“Kasi meron naman po tayong sariling atin. But at the same time, parang hindi po siya masama kasi lahat naman po tayo, I’m sure hindi lang po ang BINI, na-i-influence sa K-pop and na-i-influence sa isa’t-isa, ‘yung ibang grupo din po,” she said, adding that it’s OK.

To those who say that BINI is not good, Gwen assured that the group respects their opinion but also suggests turning these comments into constructive criticisms that will help them improve.

Jhoanna also said that they constantly get accused of lip syncing.

“Palagi po talagang may ganiyang comments po kahit nagkanda-piyok-piyok ka na, lip sync pa rin, Diyos ko,” the group’s leader said.

She acknowledged that they cannot please everyone but also took note that they trained for two years before debuting as a group.

“We always deliver live, not just to perform, but also an experience kasi ginagastusan po kami ng ibang tao and ayaw naman po namin magbigay ng half-baked na performance po. So lahat po ng nakikita niyo is pinaghirapan po namin ‘yan and live po lahat ng ‘yan,” Jhoanna said.

Sheena then followed, responding to those who say that they are not beautiful.

“Well, beauty is subjective and feeling namin, if we don’t fit into their standards, then it’s fine,” she said.

The group’s youngest member added that they are constantly surrounded by people who always remind them that they are beautiful.

Mikha also clarified that they are not “mayabang” or “snobs.”

“Hindi lang namin mangitian lahat. Hindi namin matingnan lahat sa mata, or like mag-hi sa lahat. And siyempre if nasa labas kami and under ‘incognito mode,’ siyempre we want to like be private, you know?” she said.

Good thing, according to Aiah, their fans are very respectful.

Maloi also shared how she addresses fake news and took the opportunity to clear up the dating rumors that hounded her and Rico Blanco early this January, which she immediately debunked online.

BINI has an upcoming concert in February and a world tour later this year.

In 2024, BINI was among the top streamed artists on Spotify Philippines.

The group also won the International Breakthrough Artist and International Video of the Year for “Cherry on Top” at the BreakTudo Awards 2024 in Brazil, and was named Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.
