Anthony Mackie shares how he prepared for 'Captain America: Brave New World'
Anthony Mackie stars as the new Captain America in "Captain America: Brave New World," which opens February 12 in Philippine cinemas.
In Martin Javier's interview with Anthony, which aired on "24 Oras" Wednesday, the Hollywood actor shared the workouts he had to do in preparation for the role.
"I did a lot of yoga and a lot of Pilates because I just needed to be more flexible, I needed more core strength," he said.
"I realized that this was gonna be a lot more work than all the other stuff, all the other times I've been in a suit and been on the wires."
According to Anthony, he never imagined that he would be Captain America in this lifetime.
It can be remembered that at the end of "Avengers: Endgame," Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) gives his Captain America shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony), aka Falcon, paving the way for him to shine as the new Captain America.
“The shield part was emotional. It was a combination of a long road of work and patience. I never saw it coming. I never thought in any lifetime I would be Captain America," said Anthony.
"Captain America: Brave New Word is directed by Julius Onah. Aside from Anthony, it also stars Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, Rosa Salazar, Giancarlo Esposito, Seth Rollins, and more.
